I woke up to a stormy morning, and I can’t help but think that it’s funny how sometimes the weather can reflect your mood.  My kiddo is away at Girl Scout camp, and I am particularly missing her today, because tonight is the talent show at the camp where we work.  As I write this down, I am perfectly aware that this sounds like no big deal – small potatoes really, but in our family there is a talent show tradition.  My daughter and my husband have performed every year together, and it is the sweetest thing.  I wrote a blog about it a couple of years ago.  CLICK HERE to read about a couple of talent show performances of the past.

My daughter is a little performer, which I guess is no wonder considering we have raised her on a diet of music of all genres and writing and plays and every art form we can possibly introduce her to.  She gravitates to the microphone though, and I am sad that she will be missing tonight.  I just hope she is having fun on top of that big mountain over Tucson, and perhaps she is creating performances of her own.

Rock on, baby girl, but for me, there ain’t no sunshine when you’re gone.
