I had the best morning yesterday that left me with holiday cheer all day long.  Yesterday, I led a children’s Christmas music performance at a preschool, and boy was it cuteness overload!  There were elves in their jammies and Santa hats and reindeer all singing their little hearts out.

It was such a warm feeling and a little bittersweet, too, as yesterday was my last day teaching at that school.  As I mentioned in previous posts, I will be starting a new job in January with full time hours.  It is so hard saying goodbye to places that have been so good to you and that you have grown to love.

Here’s the thing though….I was completely showered with kindness yesterday.  People were coming up to me and saying the nicest things.  One Mom even credits me with introducing her daughter to the Beatles.  What a compliment!

I am so overwhelmed by the love and kindness that has been shown to me over the last couple of days as I am wrapping up these jobs, but though all of these people are thanking me for the music I have given to their children, I think they have it wrong.  I need to thank THEM!  They’ve giving me opportunities and years of memories and a very full heart.  They’ve given me uncountable friendships and an ability to do what I love most every day of my life.  I have loved going to work everyday, and I feel so very blessed that now I am moving to the next phase of my career that would not have been possible without all I have learned from them.

So, thank you so much, music families.  I am indebted to all of you.  Please do keep in touch!

My song of the day comes from the Christmas performance yesterday.  You should have seen those little troopers singing loud and with so much spirit.  It made this music teacher so proud! Click HERE to hear “All I Want For Christmas is My Two Front Teeth,” which will always remind of them.  It is their song.  They own it, and I love having their memory attached to it.  Thank you for such sweet memories.
