Another VERY Successful Trip

Posted on the 08 May 2012 by Brenda @PibblesNHeathen
to the vet that is. If you've followed my posts over on Four-Legged Mom about Titan, his past issues, and the progress he's made (especially at the vet), you'd understand. But if you're new to my new bloggy here, shortly put Titan was a rescue pittie mix, 3rd time home by age 1.5. Yes, no training and some emotional issues.
Ok, to my story. So anyway, Titan's nails have been an ongoing issue. I don't believe they were cut for the first 1.5 years of his life. Thus, the quicks are super long. I try and trim but he has some dark nails and I'm afraid of hurting him. So I decided to let the vet techs do it.

Another VERY successful trip

(Similar to this yet ours is less incline)

Titan was ready by the time I got home. I parked the truck in the "loading zone" area, yes Titan uses a ramp to go into my Nitro (saves on his hips and he really can't jump up and in the back). Plus I told him in the morning we were going to see Dr. Little and his girlfriends. Again, he was ready and anxious.
The trip there was the usual fun. Titan putting more nose art on my windows and more slobbery drool on the console in my truck. Yea, nothing is sacred. We get to the vet, less than 10 minute drive, and it looks closed. Guess I'm the last appointment.
Another VERY successful trip Well, we weigh in and yes, we still have some of the "roid" weight to get off. Argh. Changing up his food a lil bit and going with a less fatty content. Go into the back and this time they take us into the operating room. Ugh, it has that antiseptic smell. Bleh Titan instantly picks up on it and looks worried PLUS his girlfriend is no where to be seen.
We had a new tech and another older lady observing. Oh boy, so I get him settled, we muzzle him just for the simple fact you just don't know what would happen if they snipped the quick plus their face is pretty much in his face. I ask for muzzle as precaution for Titan's safety as well as theirs.
Anyway, nails get cut. Oh yeah, much better now. They have those scissor like ones. Totally radical. Baby boy did real good. Flinched once, must have been an owey. So we get done and go to pay. Mr. Personality just woke up. He's behind the counter with his new "friend" tech, than he sees one of his other girlfriends and right over to her for some petting. Then, the older lady comes out of the op room and OMG, YES OMG, Titan goes right over to her, tail wagging, sniffs, and then back to his girlfriend "C". "C" and I are in shock because Titan normally gives people the "stank" eye. You know, the eye that says I'm not sure what to make of you yet so you just keep your distance.
Then he goes back to the "new" younger tech, back to his girlfriend "C" just as happy as could be! I was sooooo proud of my lil booger! We go outside and of course, he has to pee on everything 50 times! :) We all giggled, especially me cause I didn't have to clean it up when he peed on the hazmat box outside. Not just once on this side of the fence but when we went through the gate, he pee'd on it again from the other side! LMAO You go baby boy!
So off to load up again, with the ramp of course, and the ride home. Once again, my boy made momma proud!
