Anything, Everything and Nothing

by Des Recently, my mind's been occupied thinking about anything, everything and nothing. It does give me a hint my mind is in panic. And after finishing the whole season of House of Cards within 24 hours two weeks ago, Yoann and I are now on the second season of The Borgias. It's been ages since I last saw a TV series and these two have proven to be great time-fillers, specifically gap-fillers between here and the Philippines. But more than that, both series are nothing short of brilliant! We watch each episode with English subtitles and I must admit it greatly improves comprehension.
Paired with this winter season already steadily looming over Belgium in October, anticipation proves to be a distraction that I find myself searching on Youtube Philippine food-and-travel-related videos. While on my random search, I stumbled upon this video tutorial of a Filipino guy teaching us all "How to Speak like a Teenage Conyo". If you're the type who find such thing hilarious, watch it because this one is really hilarious! Yoann couldn't stand it but this is part of his Philippine immersion orientation! I also started watching The Ryzza Mae Show avidly. This one with Candy Pangilinan I find very funny in an rofl way. In case you're wondering, Ryzza is an 8-year old girl who hosts her own TV show 5 days a week! I find her so adorable but I must admit it can get painful when she's being constantly fed her dialogues and being told what to do to the point of forcing her into it but children have long been part of Filipino entertainment and that's right, this ain't a valid excuse! Yoann finds it sick that a child is allowed to work that hard and be manipulated on television. And I hardly see "child stars" being paraded by their parents on French and Belgian TV while The French Senate approved the ban on beauty pageants for young girls in France, but hey, welcome to the Philippines.
But I must say that people should upload episodes of the 90's show Hoy! Gising! I miss those days when newscasters talk honestly and brutally about our corrupt politicians. Brb!
