April is birthday month. At least it always has been in my family. My aunts, uncles, grandparents, cousins, me – so many of us have April birthdays. I always am reminded of this when April 3rd comes along, and my cousin’s birthday is standing front and center. He’s the beginning of the April birthday month of celebrating and well wishes.
I am also reminded when the daffodils are in bloom. They were the clear signal that my birthday was coming up when I was little. They were by birthday alarm clock. To this day, daffodils are my favorite flowers.
What’s funny about this is that it seems that my kids’ friends all have April birthdays, too. This weekend and next weekend are all planned around the parties. I think we have 5 of them to go to over the next 2 weeks. Plus my own celebrating!
April is a happy month, and it is also a good excuse to listen to my favorite “April” song by Simon and Garfunkel. “April Come She Will” may not be the most popular April song, but I think it’s beautiful, so enjoy, and happy birthday everyone!
