Au Revoir, Gent!

Picture Dear Pinoy Matters Blog,
Greetings!
I am well aware I haven't dropped by in a while but I think of you constantly. The recent devastation in the Philippines got me all political in my thoughts that I chose to take it easy on you. Don't get me wrong, I can talk about Filipino politics if I resort to anger as a desperate move to be awake (like when I'm on a long road trip and the driver needs a chatterbox), but Philippine politics is my least favorite topic to write about, unless I find a better way to express my anger. Otherwise, my words would be limited to a series of t@ng!n@s. I would like to spare you my wrath for now, but you're not really missing anything if you ask me.
In other news, we left Belgium for good and it was a busy week leading to our departure yesterday, packing and sorting and cleaning and stuffing and throwing. It's truly amazing how garbage can accumulate at such a short time was what I could think of while going through the whole ordeal. A year's already passed, can you believe it? We said goodbye to Gent, your city of birth, dear blog! We left it as pretty as when we arrived. Don't worry, I will keep telling you about Gent in the future. It's a place that you and I won't forget for sure.
For now, excuse my erratic presence. I'll be back in no time. I leave with you a photo of me and Yoann saying goodbye to Gent in Graslei with the saddest faces we could muster. Enjoy the view!
xoxo Des
