Soda and I have an interesting history. As a child all I ever wanted was Sprite. I didn't believe in drinking dark soda because it could stain my clothing. Everyone once in a while I'd get to enjoy grenadine with my Sprite for a glamorous Shirley Temple.
Things continued like this till about the age 10, when I had my first Arnold Palmer (half ice tea, half lemonade). Whenever someone asked me what I would like to drink, be it a waiter or grandparent, etc. all SisterT and I would ever answer would be an Arnold Palmer.
Green Tea and Arnold Palmers have been my go to for the past decade+, until recently I had my first taste of "Coke Zero." While I dislike regular Coke, because it is too sweet for my taste buds, I find myself loving (and craving) Coke Zero. I hate drinking soda, but for the past few weeks I've been enjoying one with dinner. It has the classic taste of Coke sans calories and sweetness.
Alas, with healthy 2012, I must drop my soda treat for a delicious and all too good for you... H2O! After my workouts there is nothing better than an ice cold water. I downloaded an app for my iPhone the other day that logs how much water I am drinking. If you feel that you are not drinking the amount recommended for you, think of downloading this free app, "Waterlogged."
What beverages do you gravitate towards? Every once in a while I'll splurge and enjoy a Ginger Ale while in flight or an IBC Root Beer when with Mr. Darcy (his drink of choice, no floats though... crazy!). Sweet dreams!
