It blows me away to watch my daughter get older. She is so beautiful and sweet, and I just want to give her the world. She has always been tall measuring in at 21-1/2 inches long on the day she was born. From her first moment in the world, she has been in the 97th percentile for height in her age bracket. This is the part of the reason why we are making the decision to upgrade her bedroom to tween room. She is literally growing out of her bed. It is time to get her a comfy spot that fits her.
My daughter has an adorable room – clouds on the ceiling, yellow walls with fairies and ladybugs and bumblebees and even a big pony that our friend lovingly painted for her when she was only a year old. Her doll-house book case sits next to her actual real doll-house that she still plays with. The idea of redoing her room feels like we’d be closing a chapter that I’m not sure I’m ready for.
She is still a little girl and will always be my baby no matter how old she is, but it is clear to me that she is very close to the brink of tweendom. So, if we are redoing her room, it makes sense to bring it to the next phase of her life. What a bittersweet feeling for a Mama!
So, we will peruse catalogs for ideas, and sooner rather than later, blog readers, I’ll be posting pictures of her newly upgraded tween room. (Did you hear my heart shattering just a little bit while I wrote those words?)
My song of the day is by Fergie. She sings “Big Girls Don’t Cry” and says in her song that “It’s time to be a big girl now.” That is the line that is sticking with me as I write my blog today. So, click HERE to hear the song, as I go get the box of tissues to wipe away my sweet Mommy tears as I watch my beautiful girl grow and grow and grow right before my eyes.
