This weekend was one big birthday celebration. Vinnie turned 27 this weekend and we celebrated by eating lots of Italian food.
On Friday night we went to Cafe Florentine for Vinnies birthday dinner. His mom and sister came down from Vermont to hang out with us. We had a great meal including antipasti salads, gnocchi, Bolognese and lots of garlic bread! The food was really good, I highly recommend going if you like Italian. The atmosphere was very authentic and our waiter was awesome; incredibly Italian and super friendly. That’s him photo bombing our group pic!
After a giant Italian feast we headed over to Mikes Pastry, which is a famous Italian bakery in the North End of Boston. There is usually a line out the door every time I walk by. But since we went to dinner so late, by the time we got to Mike’s Pastry, there was no line, so we got to try the delicious treats.
We got a giant cannoli (not pictured because we ate it right away), biscotti and rainbow cookies. It was all very good, but I was expecting greatness. I mean, why else would there always be incredibly long lines. The treats were good, but there is no way I would wait in line for them. On Saturday, Vinnie wanted to go into Boston and watch the Bruins at a bar near the Garden. Before we headed in, we went for a 5 miler around our new neighborhood.
Yes, I wear my Saucony #Findyourstrong wrist band every day, all day! I love it.
It is really fun learning my way around my new town by going for run and exploring the new neighborhood.
It is a good thing we got some exercise because we ended up staying in Boston until the wee hours of the night and I drank a lot of beer, ate a ton of nachos and there might of even been some Tequila involved. Let’s just say Sunday morning was not nearly as fun as Saturday night!
Sunday was spent recovering! I ran on the elliptical for a hour, watched my new fav show Smash and did some abs. Later on, Vinnie and I went over to my grandparents house, ate some pizza and watched Game 6 of the Bruins. We are going into Game 7 baby, here we go!
I hope you had a great weekend! How was your weekend?
