My little girl is so stinkin’ cute, and sometimes she is just too charming. She was so proud when she announced to me yesterday, “Mom. Guess what? The girls at school started a club, and it’s really sticking!” I can hardly wait to hear what “club” they’ve drummed up this time. The last time she mentioned a playground kid-inspired club, they decided to be elephant activists. I loved that phase!
“What club is it this time” I asked.
“It’s the girl’s football club!” With one hand on her hip and a head roll to punctuate her point, she explained “Because girls can play football, too! My team is called the Black Cats, and the other team is the Night Fairies.”
Oh Lord, help us!
I don’t think she knows a single thing about football except that she doesn’t like to be told she can’t do something. Yay for little girls with big spunk!
My song of the day is for the girl’s “Black cat” football time. I always did love Janet Jackson’s song “Black Cat.” Thank you, ladies, for giving me a good reason to use it as a song of the day.
