Bread

The baker kept the sack of flour in the storage room at the back. In the dim light, he did not notice the two rats that he inadvertently crushed when he dropped the sack on them. Nor did he realize their blood was seeping into the flour.A day after he used the flour in the sack, he woke up to see his son vomiting. What was more terrifying was the fact that his son was vomiting blood. Lots of it. As he rushed out to try and find a doctor, he found nearly all the villagers outside their homes. The deep crimson liquid was bubbling out of their mouths.
The plague entirely wiped out the village and other neighboring villages. Then the epidemic spread to almost all parts of the nation.
All because one baker in an insignificant village did not look where he was keeping his sack of flour.
