Cafe Rochester

Posted on the 26 February 2012 by Mattie @comfyconfident

This weekend, I have been all over the state of Vermont. Saturday I was at Pico Mountain and today I was at Sugarbush. The kids I coach had races at both these mountains. It’s fun to travel around to new places but it is a lot of driving and very time consuming.

On the way home from Sugarbush, we stopped at a Rochester Cafe, a local Vermont country store and cafe. (I love country stores!)

The kids have been there before, and raved about the milk shakes!

I ordered a Vermont Garden Veggie and Goat Cheese Sandwich. My side options were chips, cole slaw or cottage cheese. I have never had cottage cheese for a side, but I went with it and it was the perfect compliment to my sandwich. It was refreshing instead of addicting, like chips or French fries can be.

My sandwich was a little dry so I topped it with some of the cottage cheese, Dijon and ketchup. Condiments rock! :)

I couldn’t leave without a cookie and a milkshake!

It was the perfect place to stop midway through our trip back to Okemo.

Question:

How was your weekend?

What is your favorite flavor milkshake? I love ‘em all!
