From 16 to 27 May the Festival de Cannes is being held at, where else, Cannes. What film is going to receive the Palme d’Or? I’ll make my own selection from the official selection and post a trailer a day.
Today, the festival was opened by a showing of Moonrise Kingdom. A film with an incredible cast (Edward Norton, Bruce Willis and Tilda Swinton among others), directed by Wes Anderson (and written by Anderson and Roman Coppola), fantastical cinematography by Robert Yeoman, and music by Alexandre Desplat.
In the 1960s, two twelve-year-olds fall in love and run away. The town is turned upside down in search for the two, while at the same time a violent storm is approaching the otherwise peaceful island.
