Canton Road Race

This weekend, I’m ran the Reebok Canton Road Race on a team sponsored by Reebok and Fitfluential

Canton Road Race

The Canton Road Race raises money for Canton organizations, such as the Police and Fire Departments, the Mass. Hospital School, and the Canton Food Pantry. Proceeds also go toward scholarships awarded to students of Canton High School and Blue Hills Regional Technical School.

Reebok outfitted us with some awesome apparel. I ran in the Play Dry Short Sleeve Top, PlayDry Skinny Capri and CrossFit No Show Socks. They fit great and were perfect for running in the fall.

The race had the option to run a 5k or a 10k – I ran the 10k. The 10k is 2 laps of the 5k course. The first mile of the run was all downhill, and then the second mile was all uphill, but then it flattened out. I had no idea what the course would be like so the elevation kind of threw me off.

I still managed to run the second half of the run faster than the first. I think it is partially due to the woman chasing me the whole time. The competitor in me came out and I would NOT let her pass me. I ran way harder than I expected too simply because I wouldn’t let her get ahead of me.

At the end of the race, RaceWire sent an email with my official time and a link to the results.

This was so convenient. I loved being able to find my results this quickly.

I ended up running the 10k in 46.24 with an average pace of 7:28. I was 2nd for my age group and 29th overall. Not too shabby! Although, next time I am going to have to WIN!  ha :)  Canton Road RaceIt was a super fun race and I was so happy to meet all my fellow and fabulous FitFluential ambassadors Tina, Elizabeth, Robin, Sarah, and Kelly.
