From L’Trimm’s Tumblr site: http://www.tumblr.com/tagged/l’trimm
Last night was mysterious! At 7:45, we heard a couple of loud booms outside. My husband and I exchanged questioning eyes, but chalked it off as wind and thunder until it became the talk of Facebook. The news reporters were going nuts, because none of them could figure out what the “booms” were. The Air Force base, gas and electric departments, seismic activity, and astronomers were all concluding that the booms had nothing to do with them.
Of course, because there is music in everything for me, all I could think of during all of the “what could it be” discussions was of the song from the late ’80′s “Cars That Go Boom” by L’Trimm.
We like the cars
The cars that go boom
We’re Tigra and Bunny, and we like the boom!
So, I decided to research L’Trimm and see where they are now.
According to Wikipedia:
“Bunny D. married LA Kid from another hip hop band, Tuff Crew. They have 4 children. She writes children’s book and has a clothing line.
Lady Tigra moved back to New York City, where she managed nightclubs and has recorded an album in Los Angeles released in 2008 that was titled Please, Mr. Boombox. The jingle on the Pinkberry Web site was also written by Tigra, and she also appeared on Nickelodeon’s award-winning children’s show Yo Gabba Gabba.”
These girls were so cool back in the day, but now, when you watch the video, it is so hilariously dated! Click HERE for a little late ’80′s cheesiness and charm and to enjoy the original BOOM! I love these girls! Thank you to last night’s boom for reminding me of them!
