In my neighbourhood we are currently experiencing a large overpopulation of swans. We are surrounded by quite a bit of water; small canals, ponds, lakes. Of course, because they are so pretty, people like to feed them. Most of them aren’t all that shy either. When coming home from work this afternoon, I spotted one lying just across from my front door. When I thought I’d kneel down to make a picture, he just got up and started walking towards me. Now, if swans are angry or upset they usually start hissing, but this one was just comfortably wobbling towards me and my camera.
