Sloggers- Congratulations, we made it through the week! I’m not sure about you, but this week was slightly more challenging for me than last. Regardless, I’m still concentrating on the positives and this week was full of smiles of all shapes and sizes!
- We started out the week with Isaac deciding there was one thing he would rather hit more than the Republican National Convention…New Orleans. I am not sure I understand his choice, but nevertheless am happy with our day of rain in leu of a Hurricane.
- While stocking up on Hurricane essentials, I discovered Children’s Claritin in delicious grape flavor. In all fairness, I did check the adult Claritin section, but for whatever reason they don’t make the adult kind in liquid grape wonderfulness? Can someone tell me why being sick as an adult cannot be fun? Not only is the medicine delicious, but it is also the only allergy medicine (or treatment- including natural remedies as well) that has ever worked to provide relief. Yay for grape yummy medicine and being able to breathe! It is fantastic.
- Brian & I finally visited the infamous Florida “Twistee Treat.” Twistee Treat is the ice cream coned shaped ice cream stand. I had arguably the world’s largest banana split and am disappointed to tell you that even I, sugar addict #1, could not finish it. It was still incredibly good and a fun date night sitting outside and eating ice cream. If you’re in Florida and see one of these funny looking cones, make the stop to try it. It is super fun, better than the chain ice cream shops, and a one-of-a-kind experience.
And last, but not least…Stephanie will finally get to cross “Visit Ancient Mayan Ruins” off her bucket list, because she is going on her very first CRUISE!!!
Despite the fact that I claimed I would never really “vacation” to Mexico, it will end up being the first stamp in my Passport and the first country I have ever visited outside of the US. I have wanted to visit the ruins for about as long as I can remember, and have wanted to try a cruise as well, so this ended up being the perfect combination. In addition to stopping in Cozumel, the ship will make a quick stop in Grand Cayman before heading home. This is also the very first vacation that I will take with my longtime friend, making this a complete ladies week out! Hello to painting each others nails, and mud mask parties, and staying up late (or laying on the deck by the pool drinking cocktails all day long, whichever comes first).
And to make this trip a little more exciting, should I get motion sick (we don’t know yet if I will, this is kind of like an experiment), Jenn has graciously volunteered to hold my hair back while I vomit (by agreeing to go with me, that is). Congrats Jenn! I bet now even you are smiling, you lucky girl!
Yay for ending the week on a great note and VACATIONS! What were some of your smiles this week? Don’t forget to link back should you do your own “Counting Smiles” post! I would love to visit your blog to read it.
