I wanted to do a quick Day 2 check in. I guess it is Day 3 but I will recap on my Day 2. Yesterday I was able to get up early and workout which was nice because I knew I had a dinner last night with my family so if I wanted to workout I had to get it done in the morning. I did the 2-Day: Three is Better Than One cardio workout. I ran a fast mile on the treadmil , I biked for 2 miles and ran on the elliptical for 3 miles.
Kashi Go Lean for breakfast with almond milk and ½ banana. I had the other ½ of the banana.
For lunch I had homemade salmon cakes with broccoli.
I was really hungry all day. I swear eating a big breakfast makes me hungrier. Maybe its because I am getting my metabolism going or something. I ate lunch at 12:30 and by 2pm I was starving. So I had some almonds and jolly ranchers and then work got crazy and I didn’t leave until 6:30pm.
I drove right to Old Thyme Italian to meet my Aunt, cousins and grandparents for dinner. I wasn’t going to eat any bread… but I did. I also had a nice, big glass of wine which tasted so good after a long day! [the glass looks dirty... but it didn't phase me!]
For dinner, I ordered CHICKEN RAFFAEL over linguini. It was a boneless breast of chicken with pepperoncini’s, roasted red peppers and mushrooms sautéed in a garlic butter and white wine sauce.
It was so good, I kept trying to push it away and be done but I couldn’t stop!! I also nibbled on everyone else’s meals, because I ALWAYS have to try everything. It’s a terrible habit, I have to break. I ended up leaving the restaurant full and tired! But, overall I am happy with how I am doing. This morning I woke up feeling revived and ready for Day 3. I woke up early again, worked out and had a good breakfast instead of having a smaller serving or nothing at all because I ate too much the night before. I am just going with it, eating well and starting the day off right.
Cheers to Day 3.
I have another dinner tonight with the family. My aunt is in town visiting so it’s going to be a busy weekend with a lot of eating out, drinking and family time. It’s going to be a challenge but I am going to try to stay positive and really be conscious about what I am eating. SO far I’ve been really enjoying the SELF Diet Club! I always try to eat well but it’s been really nice to have the structure. Keeping track of my food intake and being honest has been really helpful. I have to track everything I eat… from the jolly ranchers, to the bite of cake to the handful of almonds. It all adds up, which is something I often overlook.
Have a great FRIDAY!!! YEAAA FOR THE WEEKEND!
