As I sat there watching the rain fall, outside and on TV, I reflected on how dull 24 hour news is. I wonder if the Queen was as bored as me, the continual horns blowing must be giving her an awful headache.
Forgive me if I'm not really getting into the spirit of things but us Brits abroad have not been subjected to Jubilee fever to the same extent as you homers.
I do know a few people around here that have held parties etc, but cupcakes are really nor my forte and I think my husband and kids would balk at cucumber sandwiches.
I suppose you get a day off which is nice, and I have been able to use it as lesson fodder for my pupils.
I must try to get into the spirit of things a little more, my computer cover is seasonal at least...
There was a worrying moment when the remote control went on strike and it looked like we would be stuck with BBC world news live coverage all evening.
I'm really sorry I can't work up any more enthusiasm, I'll probably be arrested for high treason the minute I step on British soil again.
So, let me know what you got up to, I hope for poor Betty's sake it was better than our pathetic effort.
