I have come across a ton of blog websites that cater to giving everyone the scoop on what’s going on in the world of entertainment. They’re not hard to find and most of them are accurate. BUT there has yet to be a superior blog website like Ice Cream Conversations and the reason why I have crowned Xaviera Bryant as the Diamond of the Week is because girlfriend decided to make a serious decision that most of us would’ve been scared to do: She quit her job to work solely on her dream as an entertainment blogger for her website, Ice Cream Conversations. She didn’t wait for the job to give her a pink slip; she created her own. #Girlpower.
Although her partner-in-crime, Karla Hunter Brown, is a HIGHLY important part of the business and her hard work is not to be taken lightly, Bryant’s recent and bold decision to leave her day job and focus on what she really wants is not something that can be ignored. So many of us want to be able to quit our day job and work on that particular thing that drives us outta bed in the morning. But of course, when we get close to wanting to leave our job, fear paralyzes us and we start saying things like, “I can’t quit because I have to pay my rent, my car note is due, Junior needs clothes, I need health benefits, blah, blah, blah.” Before you know it, you’re at your job for another 5-10 years, hating the same can’t-get-a-man-if-she-paid-for-one boss that is constantly micro-managing you and draining you of all positive energy.
However, Bryant had put all fear aside and made the decision to live her life on her own terms, which also included living her dream to the fullest before her dream died. So for anyone of you that are thinking about quitting your job to pursue what it is that you really love, write down your plan of evacuation and MAKE YOUR MOVE. Xaviera, cheers to you for stepping out on faith and making the choice to create your own destiny for your life and being bold enough to live it .
