Self Expression Magazine

Last night I tore at my skin, attacking an itching that crawled all over my body from my scalp to my toenails.  I could not be still, the slightest breath awoke my flesh and I writhed internally, waiting for sleep

which never came.

I lay awake most of the night, in a state of sub-consciousness; enter dreams.

And they came, plodding past my internal eye like prisoners shackled at the heels and wrists, “you fail, you fail, you fail” they chanted, scenarios flashing before me showing mismanaged schedules, botched weight loss, trouble at work, relational upset, financial woes and a quickly dissolving sense of self.
