Don’t Stop ‘Til You Get Enough, #1220

Posted on the 08 September 2015 by Juliezaz1 @juliezaz1

On the first day of school each year, I post pictures of my kids all over Facebook donning new outs, new back packs, new lunch boxes, and their grins are huge filling up the entire photograph.  You can just feel their excitement through the photos, and all of those first day photos are precious treasures that mark milestones.

So — do you know what you get when you are a full-time working person and a mother who has gone back to school in her 40’s on the first day of your second year of grad school?  Nothing…..except a little fear that you all might be seeing less of me in social media and in real face time.  There are no photos, no new supplies, no new outfit – just welcome letters from your professors with syllabi attached.  Syllabi with promises of no social life until winter break.

I know I’m whining a bit this morning, because it’s kind of scary jumping back in when you’ve basically had the summer off.  The amount of work is little overwhelming, and if I’m being honest with myself, I have to admit that I have cold feet.  This is year #2 though, so I should be a pro, right?  Here’s prayin’!

Well (gulp), here I go -the first day of my second year with no photograph – just a need for a few good luck wishes and good vibes thrown my way.  I’ll mark the milestone with the only way I know how – with a song.  Michael Jackson’s words of encouragement are a perfect mantra for the day.  “Don’t Stop ‘Til You Get Enough”……amen, bro!
