Each Day I Practice, I Feel Better With Certainty: Reflections Via the #Reverb14 Prompt Path

With Certainty: Today, this is what is true for me. Reflections on 2014 and a Firm Foundation for 2015

My response to Kat McNally's Reverb 2014 Prompt for December 1

What I am certain of right now is when I take action on what is true for me in each precise moment, life works better. Life feels better. Life flows better.

I have been leaning into this reality for a while now.

Each day I practice it, I feel better.

And better.

And better.

This isn't rocket science or an MFA or even a course one takes on the weekend to learn how to do better DIYs on one's home.

This doesn't mean one postures about being right or wrong or smarter or is prettier or has more money.

Here's an example: last week I was asked a question. It was a simple question, actually. It was akin to "Did you buy the last blue London Times dress on the rack or did you buy one of the many crew neck yellow turtlenecks on the folding table?"

I told the accurate, factual answer.

I knew in this case (as in many) it was risky to tell the truth.

A dear friend of mine might be angry with me for telling what happened, but I knew I would be angrier with myself if I had withheld or made up fiction that was, perhaps, more comfortable than what was true.

I didnt realize at the time this tiny moment of offering simple facts opened the doorway to more realizations of what I wanted and what I didn't want. It helped me become even more certain of what I knew but hadn't wrapped words around until aftr I stood my ground and said what was true.

It is like realizing one likes Special K Cereal better than Frosted Mini Wheats Cereal. You ware then able to ask for what you want, to say what you would rather not have, and then act in accordance.

See what I mean?

It really isn't rocket science or an MFA or a DIY course at a Hardware Store.

It is recognizing what is true and standing for it, always and then taking aligned action.

What I am certain of right now is when I take action on what is true for me in each precise moment, life works better. Life feels better. Life flows better.
