Emerald Lake

Posted on the 04 April 2014 by Sreesha @petrichor_blore

The lovers met near the emerald lakeLate towards the evening, the sun’s last rays dieAched they to touch the tips of each other’s fingers,To drink each other with gazes they try.
They inch towards each other with tentative stepsUnsure of how long it would last,Unsure of all else except their love,But could it be built to last?
Later as they lay on the ground,Arms and legs intertwined,They thought of things great and beautiful,But for time to stretch they pined.
Then she said to him, you and I don't believe in foreverBut I promise to love you so muchThat if you someday want a forever,You would want it to be us.
Into the dying embers of the sunset,Could be heard the fading echo of a swan's song,He replied he knew, why not make forever come now,Saying thus, the lovers descended into the deep emerald lake,Immortalizing their love forever.
