Entry #18 – Living with Randoms?

Dear diary,

Well you must think I’m crazy but next year I’m planning to live with randoms that I’ve never met before. That’s right, it’ll be the gamble of life, hopefully I have good flatmates.

My friend did invite me to flat with him (I said yes temporarily, but he knows that it’s a temporary answer. I really don’t want to flat with the people I know), and yesterday I went around the university notice boards and looked around for posters saying “Flatmate wanted!”. I found a dozen of them and texted all of them to see who is still wanting flatmates. Well, 3 of them replied saying yes, they need flatmates and so I think I’m in luck. All I need to do is meet them and see if they’re decent people. Then decide which group of people I want to flat with.

Bear in mind that these are people that I have never met, and I may be living with them next year. This is a massive step for me. I remember this time last year I was stressing so much about my Halls of Residence – but that’s nothing compared to this. Hopefully I can get some adventure out of flatting with random people.

I couldn’t sleep last night, and spent all of my time adding lyrics to the video Gangnam Style using Adobe Premiere Pro CS4. I learnt a lot about the program, but as a consequence I only got 2 hours of sleep last night and I’m really tired at the moment. But I need to make my sleeping patterns right again and so I’m going to bed at 11pm and hopefully that’ll make my morning routine better.

I also took a picture of Dunedin, from my Halls of Residence at 3am. Here it is:

Dunedin

It looks a lot better with the naked eye, each of the lights flicker on and off and it feels like there’s something magical about the whole thing, especially with it being 3am in the morning.

I just also have to add these cute ducklings I saw in the Botanical gardens today. There are many ducklings, but very few people see them because they’re always hiding.

Ducklings!

Ducklings!

More ducklings!

More ducklings pictures!

They’re so cute, I just wanted to pick them up but that would frighten them.

Yours, -Harper
