It was the 7th time,she didn`t pick the phone. He pressed the redial button,the beep went on,no answer.
He had been trying to call her,since the incident in school. Earlier in the morning,it was the day when the results were to be announced. It wasn`t as he expected,he barely escaped the failing point. Had it been 2 less marks,he would be in the same class for one more year. He wasn`t looking happy,but she was,after all she was the topper of the class.
She was new here,as she joined his school last year. Everyone was surprised that the new girl was the topper,and even more surprised that his boyfriend was one of the lowest grosser.
Feeling embarrassed he left for home,where his father was waiting to beat the hell out of him. But that wasn`t his main concern now,he was more worried about facing her.
After the rituals of his dad,some healing from mom,he went to his room,where he can get over the scars of glory that his father gave to him.
He was feeling lost,and the only thing he wanted to do was DIE… to get rid of his sufferings. But everytime he looked at the ceiling fan,and his bed sheet, her innocent face came to his mind. No,he thought,he has to live,at least for her. He tries to cherish the beautiful moments he shared with her, the promises that she made to him.
Suddenly he was interrupted by a message on his mobile,it said- i saw your girl with another boy,at the cafe having coffee.
The message came from his best friend,but still he didn`t believe. So he tried to call her,but 8 times the phone rang and there was no answer.
He was losing his hope,he tried again,9th time,this time he can hear her. But it was something that he never wanted to hear,she said- “you are an idiot,you are not smart enough for me,so get lost..i`m with someone else,and he`s much smarter than you.”
His dreams were shattered,the only hope for his life was gone.
Next day-
She could see the tears in his mother`s eye,while his father was busy with the condolence of his friends.
She could not take her eyes of the wall,marked with red words- “even idiots have a heart to love” .
