Fitness on Fridays - A Little Accountability Goes a Long Way #F5onF

Posted on the 06 June 2014 by Juliejordanscott @juliejordanscot

Fitness on FridayLast month I focused on fitness for the first time in a long time with my friend Jen at JVKom Chronicles. She is a gem. Each Friday she will be asking fitness questions and then we'll link up on Friday. I adore Jen - and know that by having this smidge of accountability in my week I will page more attention to my fitness levels. Very exciting for me after so long.

Here is today's check in.

How many minutes of Cardio did you do this week? (anything that got your heart pumping counts!)

Wow, I didn't think to count - I wish I had read these questions earlier. I did some pretty powerful cleaning plus I did a lot of walking but I wish I had done more dancing this week. I would say (including hard core cleaning) I probably did 190 minutes this week. I think one of my goals for the coming week will be to keep track. THANKS for that!

2. What is your favorite physical activity?

Dancing of any kind, including Zumba. My daughter and I are going to try Aqua Zumba soon which should be fun since I love Aqua Aerobics. I like that I don't have sweat dripping down me as much, or possibly I just don't feel it and now I'm kind of grossed out about thinking about all that sweat filling the pool!! LOL.

3. How much water do you drink on a daily basis?

I drink at least eight cups a day. This is something I am really good at. I'm getting better at not drinking sodas, too - have cut way way back. By the end of Summer, I plan to have eliminated the habit. I'm doing well!

4. What is your favorite healthy snack?

I love tomatoes. :-) I have also started a new thing where I make a whole bunch of chicken breast in the crock pot and then use it in meals for a few days. I make salads, sandwiches, pasta dishes - and sometimes I just take a few chunks of chicken breast as a high protein snack. It is yummilicious. I'm not sure if flaxseed meal counts, but I do like to have an occasional greek yogurt with flaxseed meal stirred in between meals. Does that count?

5. What’s your favorite athletic shoe?

Usually its whatever is on sale. Perhaps you could help me become wise in my footwear selection! I actually have favored the ones that are specifically for balance and posture but I don't know what they're called!

Thank you, Jen, for keeping fitness on my mind continually. I know this will make a big difference in my life.
