Following the Creative Flow Down Yesterday's Road. This Time, Perhaps, in Layers?

Posted on the 12 November 2014 by Juliejordanscott @juliejordanscot

When I started the Art Every Day Challenge I knew my approach would be different than earlier years when I had a plan. I knew where I was going, I had a map, and while there was some diversion of feathering along the sides of my intent, it was primarily…. planned and intentional.

This year it is all about flow.

Yesterday and today where I thought I was going

This morning I thought I would be playing with DANCE as I cut this bit from an old dictionary page and put it atop my morning pages. I was inspired but then… just not flowing quite yet. Maybe later as I grabbed one of my junk mail gesso pages.

Blobbed some acrylic to moosh around and before I knew it I was swiping a line, and immediately I was riveted back into yesterday’s walk down the road outside pine mountain club.

Layers of mixed media via art every day month Yesterday's road meets todays road... further along or perhaps, another layer....

As soon as I realized that, I without thinking painted in a rough draft stick figure of a person - a me - walking a stick figure dog. Even with the three colors I chose, it felt very monochromatic and I liked it, surprisingly.

Yesterday and today still processing 2

That road is calling me. Place. Places. They speak to me. For whatever reason, I need to head out there hopefully sometime soon. I never know what is next in my days because of caring for Jaxon although he wouldn’t be averse to a little roadtripping now would he? Now there’s an interesting concept I hadn’t even considered.

We’ll have to see where the flow pulls us.

For now, more flowy-country road abstractions and invitations from the unknown.

To be continued….
