Food Truck Nights

Posted on the 17 May 2013 by Missliabilities
After a stressful week of M having to jump through hoops to get a Family Med rotation (he succeeded!) and me having to block my father and his exes who were harassing me on Facebook and the phone (I succeeded!), we were more than ready to gobble down some good ole American grease.
Food trucks are becoming such a craze! My first exposure to them was in New York with delicious fattening breakfast sandwiches. At my job in Maryland we had a lone food truck that served chicken and waffles. Around M's med school there are always trucks lined up for the college students from morning to night.
Close to our neighborhood the food trucks get together every now and then for a street party. Last night was the first time we've gone and we will be back for more soon. They had breweries and vineyards come in to serve drinks for low prices. M tried hard cider for the first time and hated it - guess I won't be able to go cider tasting through England with him :-P. We decided to split up and grab some food to share. I chose the gourmet grilled cheese truck. I had the roasted pork sandwich with melted goat cheese and pineapples. It was amazing!  M had to wait a half hour longer for his Latin sandwich that had guacamole, chicken, and habanero sauce. He let me try a little bit of the sauce and my mouth was on fire. I stuck out my tongue trying to cool the pain. Ouch ouch ouch!

We are pretty sure roommate is moving out this weekend! He woke up at 3:45am this morning and was packing his stuff loudly. I was going to murder him after an hour of it, and then M woke me up at 6am to get ready for his rotation. So exhausted I could barely think, I pulled the covers over my head and slept through my alarm.
I'll be much happier when there is only one med student waking me up at abnormal hours. On the to-do list this weekend: Haircut, shopping trip for M's doctor clothes, art museum, and having a friend over to play board games. And then scrubbing every trace of gross boy mess from my place!
