Football Dip

Posted on the 23 January 2012 by Mattie @comfyconfident

I had a great little Sunday! I went skiing, watched a ton of football, played some soccer and ate some delicious dip! SAM_0311I am so excited that the Patriots WON!!! GO PATS! The Super Bowl is going to so entertaining. We are playing the Giants, which makes me nervous, but Tom Brady will pull throw, I have a good feeling! :)
This dip is perfect to eat while watching football and it is so simple to make. My dad and Vinnie both make their own versions of this dip. Both dips are very similar and very good. The beauty of it is you can add whatever ingredients you want to include.

Football Dip
1 brick of Philadelphia Cream Cheese
1 can refried beans
1 1/2 jars of salsa
2 cups of Mexican Cheese

Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
Put cream cheese down as the base layer, then add the salsa, top it with the Mexican Cheese.
Place in the oven for 20 minutes or until the cheese is completely melted.

There are so many additions you can make to this: My cousin adds avocado, I like to make it with black beans and Vinnie goes basic with just the cream cheese, salsa and cheese.

Clearly it wasn’t good at all! :)

We used Green Mountain Gringo Tortilla Strips to scoop up the dip. (We actually used their salsa as well)

I like these chips because they don’t taste as salty as typical tortilla chips thus they are less addicting!
The chips are in strips which is unique and makes it easier to eat. You don’t have to worry about the sharp corners of other chips. The narrow striped chips are fun and great to dip with!

After the Patriots game, Vinnie and I rushed back to NH to make our Sunday night soccer game.

The games are 50 minutes long, 2 girls have to be on the field at all times, and we have 3 girls so we rotate playing time. I get a serious workout at these soccer games. I sprint up and down, and all around. I get that burning feeling in my chest sometimes, but I love it.

After the game, the Giants 49ers game was going into OT so everyone was circled around the only TV.

IMG_2159 Giants won! Super Bowl is going to be so intense. It is going to be like a repeat of 2008 which was the most stressful game everrrr. Good thing I will have some dip to be eating at this SuperBowl!

Question:

Do you have any traditional football recipes you make for the big game?
Who are you rooting for at the SuperBowl this year?
