Getting Ready for Tax Season

Posted on the 06 December 2012 by Missliabilities
Need some advice on how to prepare for another grueling tax season? Preparation is key! Pretend you are about to be shut off from the world for four months (which is going to happen) - what are some things you will need? Food, supplies, pictures of people you love, etc. The reason my first tax season was so difficult was because I had no idea what to expect and couldn't prepare for it. Now that I'm a seasoned veteran this tax season is sure to be slightly better.
Make a huge to do list and get it done prior to January!
Here is mine:
-Rollover 401K
-Open up a credit card
-Get healthy snacks for the office
-Buy file organizers for desk
-Resolve why back and shoulders hurt so much (chair adjustments)
-Make sure contact lenses are stocked up
-Purchase Lean Cuisines for fridge
-Make one last scrubbing of the house
-Buy tights so you don't have to wash work pants
-See friends one last time
-Try to get CPA license requirements for PA in the mail
-Send Christmas cards
-Pay outstanding bills
-Hang up pretty pictures to remind you of outside life
-Buy grad school books
-Write a few blog entries so you don't disappear entirely from the internets
That's it! Laundry, grocery shopping, and cleaning happen very rarely from January - April, especially not in our household when M starts studying for Step One.
