Girl Power Playlist

I had a great weekend in Boston. I caught up with some old friends, went out for some drinks, and learned a ton at the Be Healthy Boston Wellness Retreat. I plan on doing a full recap on the event later today, but I wanted to share my morning workout before the day got away from me.

Girl Power Playlist

It was a really fun weekend, but I didn’t eat as well as I wanted to, which happens to me every weekend, but this weekend seemed worse than most. I think it’s because I have been trying really hard to eat better and each week (Mon – Fri) I do a  better job of eating wholesome healthy meals. So this weekend, I had one bad meal and I felt terrible but I refused to get frustrated so I tried to turn it around the next meal. Even though I was at this wellness retreat full of activity and positivity towards working out and living well. All the vendors with food, and even though it was ‘healthy’, there was a lot of healthy chocolate, or healthy trail mix, or healthy granola bars, which is just a death trap for me.  I would start a meal off good and then I’d go snack on something small a vendor was giving out and then it would just spiral downhill, so the weekend turned out to be pretty frustrating in terms of my eating and meals.

This morning I headed to the gym ready for a great workout. I wanted to start this Monday morning off right, get back on track, refocus, so I can have a great week.  I did the same leg workout as last Monday. But when I got to the gym I was feeling a little lethargic and the energy just wasn’t there, so I turned to my iPod!! And it absolutely 100% saved the day. Sometimes I girl needs her music! I ended up blasting the songs in my ear (I am probably going to be deaf now) and lip syncing along to every song as I pumped some iron. LOL :)

My playlist was a total chick list of empowering female songs. Girl POWER!

Kelly Clarkson “Stronger (What Doesn’t Kill You)”
Beyonce “Single Ladies”
Lady Gaga “Born This Way”
Grace Potter & The Nocturnals  “Paris (Ooh La La)” *LOVE THIS SONG!
Rihanna “Only Girl in the World”
LMFAO “Sexy and I Know It”
Jesse James “Domino”  *LOVE THIS SONG!
Katy Perry “Firework”
Destiny’s Child “Survivor”
Carrie Underwood “Before He Cheats”
Christina Aguilera ft. Lil Kim “Can’t Hold Us Down”
Spice Girls “Spice Up Your Life” * I had to :)

Enjoy!!

Question: What are your favorite songs to listen to while working out?
