Yesterday started chaotically and stayed chaotic until about two-thirty in the afternoon. It was then my shoulders started to rest squarely under my neck instead of on top of it.
This was a relief to me.
Maybe it was the cheap wine or maybe it was the awareness everything would really be ok no matter what happens, or maybe it was the moment I sold a mixed media piece that earlier in the day had been sitting in my entry-way altar space. Now, she is living in someone else’s home and that’s going to be a grand thing.
After I left the gathering where the art was sold and the wine was sipped, Jaxon and I went for a ride (one of my favorite means of relaxation). I realized as I headed to the mouth of the Kern Canyon this was my chance to create art for today.
Here are my two favorite photos from these moments:
Sometimes following the flow leads me to the desolute: this is the view to the West of the Mouth of the Kern River, Editing via instagram This is the same spot, looking south. I love the arid feeling and the distinctive lack of flow through the tube. Welcome to the Great California Drought. Editing - PixlrWhat are you creating today?
