Guilty I Am, But You're Not Blameless

Posted on the 07 April 2014 by Sreesha @petrichor_blore

Yes,Forever guilty that there were chances in your life that you could not take. There were dreams you built that you had to burn to the ground,And the ashes of those dreams you had to bury,For the sake of someone who never made you proud.
Yes,Forever guilty that you gave all your love awayDisregarded it remained and your words were all unheeded,But the thing about love is that giving it away is all too easy,But another heart may not feel it ever, though you pleaded.
Yes,Forever guilty that your kin turned away from you,That you gave it all up for the one who lied,Stories were spun by the one who you gave your heart to,But did you ever think why she had to hide?
Yes,You have been apologized to enough, though apologies cannot change anything,But before the guilt kicked in, there was a time when you didn’t stop the right from turning wrong,Before the guilt there was sorrow, because the heart was pleading to you then,But you kept mauling it for far too long.
No,It has come too far to be corrected,For while you buried your dreams, another set were trampled tooThose which you never turned around and looked forIn your opinion, they weren’t as valuable as you.
No,The web of lies spun around you filled you with so much poisonIt was no good trying to help you out or prove them wrongA bit of poison seeped into me too,I had reached a point I cared not beyond.
No,The guilt is against my own conscience, and not a favor to you,The memories of the hurt you’ve caused won’t be buried along with those ashes.Whatever I may have done wrong is just the venom pouring out,Of the scars you gave me and those gashes.
