Today we are going to look at our heroic nature as writers. You know, being a writer takes so much courage - I don’t think I realized it when I started doing this work. There is the chronic rejection, the fretting about being good enough, but that barely scratches the surface.
Recently in one of the Writing Playgrounds I facilitated we each endowed ourself with Writing Superpowers. The super powers were anything from humor to awareness to vulnerability.
Just wanted to let you know we see heroic not only in the traditional battlefield/warrior way.
H is for Heroic - this is, naturally, for either gender.
Quote
“I want to do something splendid…
Something heroic or wonderful that won’t be forgotten after I’m dead…
I think I shall write books.”
― Louisa May Alcott.
“Heroes didn't leap tall buildings or stop bullets with an outstretched hand; they didn't wear boots and capes. They bled, and they bruised, and there superpowers were as simple as listening, or loving. Heroes were ordinary people who knew that even if their own lives were impossibly knotted, they could untangle someone else's. And maybe that one act could lead someone to rescue you right back.”
― Jodi Picoult, Second Glance
