Happiness

"Happiness can be found in the darkest of the times. If only one remembers to turn on the light" - Dumbledore"
Happiness is really simple. However, if one has to explain what happiness is, it is one impossible task to achieve. We all want to be happy, don't we? Infact, we can also tell others if we are happy or not, but what when someone asks you 'how much' happy are you?
'Very', 'A bit' are no tangible answers. Moreover, can we learn to be happy? I guess not!
Psychologists define happiness as "subjective well-being". When you are more positive than negative, simply put, you are happy.
If I had to, I would segregate happiness into three parts: Satisfaction, Interaction and Worth. While one feels satisfied about something, we get the "feel good" feeling in us. Man being a social animal, is nothing without interaction - with friends, family, spouse, kids, neighbors, co-workers, relatives, etc. More than external interaction, one's interaction with self also plays a key role in making one happy. Worth on the other hand, is what we want to be looked as.
May be we could sit once in a while with ourselves and figure out what makes us happy. If there is one quality that makes happiness so interesting, then it the different perceptions people have about it and their different ways of getting it. We are obsessed with wanting to be happy.
I have my own happiness theory too. I love being happy, like everyone else. And I have my own ways to be happy, like everyone else. Believe me, being happy isn't even slightest of the rocket science!
My secret to being happy is exercising.
Ever since I took myself over-weight as a death warning, I have hooked on to exercising like nothing else. I know a lot of people who are too lazy to wake up in the morning to hit the gym and hence leave their routine. One of the collective, famous time of exercising is "Monday" or "1st of" whatever next month. I have been there too, only to spoil my health more. I have insanely huge appetite which I cannot practically control till I am blessed with some superpower. But if there is one thing I can do to nullify the effects of what I eat, then it is working out. Working out isn't on a 'to-do list' for me now. It is a part of my being. It has become a habit. Like brushing my teeth. You have read about this too of how exercise is scientifically proven way to overcome depression. I believe exercising has had a very strong impact on my health, life and happiness. It has made me stronger physically as well as mentally. Every next workout is a challenge for me and nothing makes me happier than winning that challenge.
You might too want to spend some time by yourself, figuring what makes you happy. Do share in the comment box below. :)
