Happy Girls at the Farmers Market

Posted on the 04 June 2013 by Gray Eyed Athena @grayeyedowl

At my lunch break today, Michelle and I took a drive in the sunshine over to the other side of our building where there is a mini farmers market every Tuesday.  Usually we walk the full circuit of our building twice a day, but knew we were going to be making some purchases so we decided to drive.

Today has been the quintessential sunshine and light breeze of early summer, warm enough to go without a sweater but not so warm as to break a sweat.  Perfect.

We both needed tomato plants and a couple more herb plants for our gardens; there was plenty to choose from!

Here’s our haul of tomato plants, some fun spiky annual flowers, and herbs (I bought cilantro and rosemary… still need basil!!).  I’ll plant them all tonight after yoga, while Joe is at poker.  My herb garden already has a good little collection of spearmint, peppermint, tarragon, thyme, oregano, and two types of lavender.  I’m so happy it’s summer and I can’t wait to reap the rewards of tonight’s planting!
