Hello and Goodbye – two of the most bittersweet words in the English language. Yesterday, I said goodbye to my sweet girl as she left for a week of overnight camp. She was so happy. Here she is with her girls.
My girl was simply in her element, and her goodbye to me barely lasted a half of a second. I did manage one last squeeze as she boarded on that bus with a quick “I love you,” but she barely looked over her shoulder as she carried my love with her for the next week.
I can’t wait until Friday evening. That’s when we get our hello. Of course, the hello will be bittersweet, too, as it will also be short-lived. She’ll be heading out again next Tuesday morning with her brother back to camp. That will be a really hard goodbye. Two weeks with both of the kids gone. Uggghhh.
That’s my life for the next month….hellos and goodbyes. Of course, there is always a Beatles song perfect for every moment, and today I am gripping onto their “Hello Goodbye.” I’m sure you can all understand where I am coming from, so enjoy the tune, and goodbye for now!
