Home is Where the Heart Is

Posted on the 09 April 2012 by Brittany_tyd @Brittany_TYD
I have recently moved back to Small Town, and at no point have I started to "fit in" again.
I fit in where I'm from (LA) and where I spent my teenage years (Las Vegas), and I even fit in during law school nights on the town.  But, if you haven't been able to tell, Small Town is nothing like where I've lived at any other point in my life.  Home is Where the Heart Is
However, despite being the only one wearing glitter shoes or uggs over my jeans while surrounded by cowboy boots and camo, I am Home here.  Home is Where the Heart Is
I am happier here, surrounded by the Boyfriend's trophy animals, than I was drinking cran-vodkas and dancing up a storm every Friday night. I haven't come across a single person here wearing fake eye lashes, and most people had no idea what Burberry was when I wore my rain boots the other day. But I'd rather not fit in and come Home to love, than sit in loneliness, even if it was loneliness surrounded by glitter.  Home is Where the Heart Is
No, it doesn't make sense to me...
and no, this was never in my life plan...
but what can I say, except,
Home is where the heart is.
