How Did The Stranger in the Rain Evolve in the First Place?

Posted on the 17 March 2013 by Gracem16 @TSITR_Gracie
Hey guys,
As many of you know my pseudonym is The Stranger in the Rain. I wanted to talk to you about how this all came about to result in several pages across the web.
The first main influence was my book; some of you may not know this but Monsoon had very humble beginnings as a character. Monsoon first of all was called Penelope; I hate this name so much and had no idea why I picked it. I pick character names because I love them, rather than hate them. However; Penelope was a shy girl who had burnt herself, by scalding herself with a kettle when she was younger. This led her to wear a rather masquerade type mask to hide her burns. Think of Phantom of the Opera but on a smaller scale. Yet, I found this character very hard to portray and didn't feel comfortable enough on a writer scale to be able to write about trauma's like this. The character lacked any depth and I couldn't get too attached to them and worried about making a mistake. I basically lacked research and testimony. So I evolved the character to become an angel. Angels to me have always been relevant in my life; myself being a huge believer in them- however weird that sounds. Then we got Monsoon, a shy, quiet person that keeps themselves to themselves. The way this influenced my name was because I often felt like I hid behind a mask, I feel at times I still do. In a way I often felt like a stranger amongst my own skin, like I was intruding it. Bare with me on this...
The second influence came from buying a masquerade mask... let's prepare for a very younger and rather vain picture of myself...

Awkward Photo Time!

I can't believe I took this. I loved and still love the way people can disguise themselves and be something completely different with a few things like masks, wigs etc. So I wanted to begin a blog, to help me express these feelings and other things that came to my mind. Whilst this blog hasn't reach extrasensory heights I do hope one day that people will read my blog and comment. It really helps me smile... let's have another awkaward photo.

Me looking glum. Poor sod.

So yes, that's me without a lot of followers; looking like a grumpy cat. AND YET,

I am so happy, just not with awkward photos like these one have been, because honestly I love writing my blog, I love writing about things that I love and I love getting more subscribers, not only here but: YouTube, Twitter, Facebook you name it I'm happy.
SO guys The Stranger in the Rain has evolved and I'm loving it! I have been writing this blog for a fair while now and just love it. THANK YOU for being there throughout my journey and the journey still to come. For all my awkward ... okay one more.
