Bliss in my front yard. Inhaling lavendar. Immediate response to the delight. Holding that delight in my heart. Didn't have to go to a fancy retreat or take a course, I just opened my front door and turned left into heaven. I'll take it! My Most Desired Experience whipped up from writing every day. Bliss in my front yard. Inhaling lavendar. Immediate response to the delight. Holding that delight in my heart. Didn't have to go to a fancy retreat or take a course, I just opened my front door and turned left into heaven. I'll take it!

I love putting my face in the center of a bouquet and breathing in, deeply. I close my eyes and feel deep pleasure of the flowers themselves as well as the deep pleasure of my heart’s response.

I don’t even think about the whole of that until I exhale and stand up from the flowers and feel my heart rejoice within my chest.

I didn’t know this until I had been writing almost daily for several months.

I can hear some people being turned off by “writing practice” and think, Writing practice happens - so that lavendar may happen“Oh, no. I am not going to be tied down by another should or another ‘thing’ something else believes is important to do.

Instead, look here, just for a moment, at the value of awareness in your life.

Would you rather be more awake and aware or would you rather be more asleep or numb?

Some of you may rather be taking a nap than being creative or feeling fascinated or passionate. If this is you - hooray. Discerning what you would rather have, what you would rather feel, is significant.

Maybe you would rather be fully alive and fascinated, passionate and aware.

This is what writing practice creates. Just by meeting the page daily (or nearly daily) will have a significant impact on your life. I have heard people say “I am not ready for that amount of change,” and that is just right, too.

Here’s what I suggest. Watch the video I created “on the fly” yesterday and see what it calls to you to do next. Take a nap? Right on. Start moving your pencil? Write on!

Don't hesitate on your corner of fabulous and "did you really just do that?" go ahead, start writing. Pencil or pen on paper. You don't have to worry. Your anger will be temporarily gone or perhaps forever gone.

The practice of just writing words just for the sake of words is really, really important.

Let me know how it goes.

Smell some flowers. Feel alive.

Be weird and allow the truths to pop out.
