How Road Trip Love Stirs the Creative Fire

Posted on the 03 April 2014 by Juliejordanscott @juliejordanscot
This photo was taken outside an abandoned shack outside Piru, California during a road trip I was on a mini-roadtrip to Ventura. I made the driver pull over so I could sit and write beside this abandoned shack. I can still feel the bliss when I look at this photo!

I love roadtrips. They invigorate me. Especially the spontaneous moments I am perpetually open to building into each adventure.

I love solo roadtrips.

I love mini-mob roadtrips.

I love far away roadtrips.

I love right around the corner roadtrips.

Last week, I took a mini-adventure to a nature Preserve about an hour from my home. I love road trips so much it took me two-and-a-half hours to get there. I fell in love with the little towns and the farms and orchards and blades of grass along the way.

I simply had to stop and take photos.

I snapped this last week, someplace around Lindsay and Exeter. Not exactly sure where I was, I just knew I was enjoying the heck out of the road trip! I did. I managed my time wisely.

I got to the preserve and spent about an hour and a half wandering around taking more photos, writing and intermittently praying and crying.

I love roadtrips.

I love solo roadtrips.

I love mini personal retreat road trips.

I came home. That was a week ago and I’m still blissed out.

I went on a second road trip.

I went on a small group road trip.

I learned a lot this time, about how road tripping with people who aren’t related to me is similar and different to when I road trip with myself and my kidlets.

I love small group roadtrips.

What's not to love about climbing into a car with friends for 5 + hours on a Sunday? What's not to love about climbing into a car with friends for 5 + hours on a Sunday?

I love  when I can disagree and bicker and still love these moments with my friends.

(This is actually huger than it might seem.)

I’m still blissed out. I can't help but write about it, obviously.

And planning my next roadtrip. Which will probably fuel more photos and even more creativity.

I love roadtrips.

What do you love the most about roadtrips?
