Putting the world to rights with a friend yesterday evening we hit upon the perfect solution to get your tuition fees paid.
You would also get free board and lodging, and even stand a good chance of being trained in the career of your choice.
Any work or work experience you did over this period would be paid.
You've probably guessed by now- prison.
Yes, prison is the answer. I had started by mentioning I woould quite like a few days in solitary rather than paying a recent fine (don't tell dad!) and we decided that this time could be used far more efficiently.
Researching what crimes would get you put away for four years, approximately the time needed to get a good degree, I came across some ideas; identity theft, embezzlement or defrauding state medicaid will all get you a masters, carrying arms across state lines in order to cause civil disorder will get you a bachelors.
Falsifying tax returns, drink driving and sex with a consenting teen will also get you a higher education, amongst other things I should imagine.
With tuition fees reaching £9,000, breaking and entry is probably the only solution for many young people to get an education these days.
Unless of course you live outside the UK and decide to study in Scotland. Scotland universities are still subsidising home student fees and those of EU students - but not those of residents of other UK countries. Erm... that'll be England then (as the Welsh assembly will subsidise its own nationals).
