I Always Had a "Thing" for Cars

Posted on the 21 May 2012 by Brenda @PibblesNHeathen
My very first car was a 1979 Chevrolet Monza, sh** brown, 2 door, 6 cylinder, hatchback, automatic that had a daily tranny (transmission) leak.
Yes, it was very similar to the one pictured above. I really hated this car but didn't have a choice in what I drove back then. Dad found this car at his favorite dealership, then took me to get it. He financed it and I
paid him the monthly payment, as well as, paid for my insurance, gas, and all other repairs to this POS.
Despite it looking like a turd driving down the road, the hatchback made it very hot in the summertime.
In the winter, it was terrible in snow. But needless to say, it got me to and from work and through my first year of college. There were numerous repairs to over the years so I really learned a lot about this car.
Here's another look at this little "sex" machine! hahaha I have to laugh because I was embarrassed to drive it, but again, I had no choice.
So when I finally decided to move out of my parents house and drop out of college after my first year, I sold this little "chebby" for a 73 Pontiac Firebird Espirit, restored (was 15 years old when I bought it)
and an absolute beauty (but I'll save that for another story).
Needless to say, I owned one two more Chevy's after this one. A 1988 Chevrolet Cavalier, 2 door, coupe and the 92 Corvette sitting in my drive :) .

So, what was your first ride?
