For me, ice cream is synonymous with total luxury. It's not even a snack, you can't just keep it in the cupboard or your pocket (although my children have tried on occasions).
It's not something that we eat often, but it always brings happy memories, like watching my dad nibble the bottom off his cornet at Chatsworth house years ago ( and seeing the inevitable dribble down the trousers that followed!).
This year the children and I have set ourselves a challenge, having discovered a yumptious ice cream parlour in a neighbouring village, we have decided to try every flavor over the coming months, son has promised to take on liquorice, I have a feeling I'll be left with pistachio.
