I called you,To talk about things that mattered,
I fell all alone,
And thought you would understand.
But you didn’t pick the call,
Maybe you were busy,
Or were caught up,
With something.
I waited for you to call,
For a few days,
Restless and worried,
Hoping you could dial.
And when you didn’t,
I sent you a message,
Asking you to call,
And I waited some more.
Now I know what it means,
And I am such a fool,
But somewhere I want all this,
To be untrue.
