TieDye

Tonight is the big Sukkot party at the Tucson Jewish Community Center, and this year, it is a 60’s party.  So last night, I did something that I haven’t done in a gazillion years.  I made a tie dye t-shirt.

To me, tie dying and summer camp go hand in hand, and so the last time I tie dyed, I was probably 12!  I guess you could say that tie dye clothing is not part of my normal repertoire these days, but hot damn!!!  Check out my beautiful creation above.  I’m kind of impressed with myself, and I’m really digging this tie dye shirt!

When I tore off the rubber bands to see the surprise design before me, it’s like I shot back in time.  Days spent in the art cabin at camp filled my head and images of t-shirts with tie dyed rings throughout flashed through my mind.  I used to love making these shirts, and now, all these years later, here I am with something that I might even wear more than once!  What a cool new piece to my wardrobe.

So, my song of the day is the hippiest trippiest tune from the 60’s in my opinion, and today, it’ll be running through my head as I’m sportin’ my new rockin’ duds!
