questionable choices in parenting logoWelcome Questionable Choices in Parenting - we’re happy to have you as a guest blogger for Inside the Blogger’s Studio! This series is a way to get to know other bloggers, while also getting a glimpse into the life of a fellow parent. Who doesn’t love feeling like they aren’t the only ones going crazy?

If the name alone of this blog doesn’t reel you in, you should read this blog because the author admits to losing at Candyland. Gotta love a mom who admits to losing at a game solely based on pulling cards. Plus, she’s damn funny. With that said, let the questions begin!

If you had to sum up your blog in two sentences, what would you say?

Laughing at life as a parent so they don’t commit me. Sometimes I think I am doing a great job as a mom, but then I do something that really makes me question my own parenting abilities.

What thing did you do today as a parent you wish you could take back and do over?

My kids are iPad and iPhone addicts. What started out as a few free minutes for Mommy has turned into an Apple product dependency. They seriously need to go to rehab.  I try to limit their “technology time” but those stinkers seem to find them anyway. Thanks a lot, Steve Jobs.

What thing did you do today that you are happiest about?

My house is a mess, I have a million errands to run, and we desperately need food in this house, but my kids were in a lovey mood and wanted to snuggle on the couch all morning. Best. Morning. Ever.

What is your least favorite activity to do with your children?

Playdough. It is so boring and they lose interest once we have taken out 100 colors and 283,493,203 “tools.” I leave the lids off the Playdough in hopes it will dry out and I can throw it away!

What is your most favorite activity to do with your children?

Does naptime count? OK not naps, but reading. I love to snuggle and read and read and read to those creeps.

When your child drives you absolutely crazy and you want to scream a curse word, which word do you wish you could say?

This Mamma has a potty mouth that would shock a truck driver; however, I am forced to censor it daily. Apparently I scream “NEVER” a lot because both kids yell “NEVER” at me when they are mad. Pretty weak word choice if you ask me, but it works.

What’s your favorite lie you have ever told your child?

“Yes, Mommy is going to bed just like you!” Whatever kid, Mommy has a bottle of red waiting for her and the rest of your Halloween candy stash

At what moment did you realize that you really were grown up?

While watching reruns of my favorite show Sex and the City, I found myself staring at Mr. Big and thinking that the small gray at his temples was really sexy—BAM—I’m a grown up!
