A new week, a white canvas, new opportunities to create!
It is a bold act to be countercultural, even in the seemingly insignificant ways.
This morning I was driving east and I pulled over on a very busy road. “What’s wrong?” asked my passenger, a rider who consistently looked for things to fear.
“Nothing is wrong,”I said. The clouds and the light were conspiring with me to play. The tree, bravely growing in the desert, was like a living exclamation point. I had to pull over and capture the moment.
This is just the tiniest snippet of what it means to be alert and deeply in love with life enough so that on a Monday morning, one doesn’t look for what is wrong, but one looks for what is absolutely right, even if it is just the way the clouds waft about in the sky.
Besides, it feels so much better to be hopelessly devoted to life in this way.
It is a bold act to be countercultural and declare your favorite day of the week to be Monday.
