It's okay to be happy
"So often we find ourselves wrapped up in the negative. So consumed in the bad that we allow the happy moments slip by. Have you ever wondered what it would be like to set happiness free?
A good friend of mine, Jason Cole, asked me why I write like I do? He began pointing out how all my posts were always sad and slightly depressing. He showed me how I failed to bring light into the pieces I wrote. "I wish your writing reflected who you are Ros. You are such a happy and beautiful person. You need to share that with the world." Those are the words that he sent me when I tried to defend all I have ever written. He showed me how I used my battle with depression as a crutch, instead of a stepping stone to greater things. He pointed out how I chose to cling onto my negative moments even when surrounded by so much beauty. He showed me that it's OK to be happy. That might sound strange right? Everyone knows it's okay to be happy,  or do they really. How often do you hide good news afraid that you might offend someone? When was the last time you spend hours reliving the precious moments you had in the past that made your heart skip a beat? How often do you find yourself sulking and moping around claiming to be having a blue Monday on a Friday? When last did you settle down into your happiness? Most of us don't. We are too afraid that the world might get angry with us. Afraid that we will be shunned for having good things happen to us and wanting to share that with the world. We condone hate speech and condemn anything that might contradict it. We are a world that is afraid to be happy. It is time to set happiness free.
I hope to live in a world that only consists of positive energy. Call me a hippie or free spirit, but I believe we were created from love so it is our duty to spread that love. So today I challenge you to infect someone with happiness. Send a friendly text, hug a stranger, share a coffee with the guy in the office that is always alone. Let's be masters of change.
PS. Share how you decided to spread happinessVP"
